Si le trio sud-africain emmené par Ninja et Yolandi Visser (et, bien caché derrière ses platines, Hi-Tek) ne brille pas toujours par son excellence niveau son (et encore, même là on est réceptifs! Allez savoir...) il faut reconnaitre que visuellement ils ont su imposer leur marque de fabrique.
FKA twigs - #throughglass [GOOGLE GLASS Ad]
FKA Twigs se met en scène pour promouvoir les Google Glass! A la fois actrice et réal pour cette pub en forme de court métrage, la chanteuse met en avant les atouts produits (vous avez dit Brand Utility?) avec en guise de bande son, deux de ses morceaux : Video Girl et Glass Patron.
Elle King - Ex's and Ho's
New-yorkaise de 25 ans, Elle King a écumé les Etats-Unis avant de s'établir dans la Big apple. Elle débute sa carrière en se produisant à Brooklyn et Harlem. Son style musical va de la country au rock en passant par la soul et le blues.

La charmante Tove Östman Styrke nous revient avec un nouveau clip tout frais! La jeune suédoise qui avait été repérée dans Sweden Idol en 2009 (dans lequel elle s'était hissée à la troisième place du podium) nous présente la vidéo de Borderline premier single de l'EP éponyme qui sortira le 23 novembre prochain.

Reggae News! #1 (Stephen Marley, Capleton, Sizzla, Busy Signal, Tarrus Riley and more!)
Allez, une nouvelle série de posts, Reggae News! Qu'elles viennent de Kingston, des Antilles ou de métropôle, les sortie reggae s'enchainent beaucoup trop vite et méritent leur série pour suivre tout ça! Pour ce premier opus du lourd, du très lourd...
On commence avec l'énorme Rock Stone de Stephen Marley qui arrivent à surpasser ses deux illustrent invités à savoir Capleton et Sizzla. Tout cela n'annonce que du bon pour l'album à venir! D'un Marley à l'autre il n'y a qu'un pas, donc on poursuit avec le plus jeune de la famille à savoir son neveu Jo Mersa. Le fils de Ziggy nous livre un Sunshine de lover un peu à la manière de Tarrus Riley que l'on retrouve ensuite pour Burning Desire.
On enchaine avec le très bon hommage de Busy Signal à Eek a Mouse avec le medley Money Flow/Greetings avant de passer à du reggae français avec Le duo Mighty Ki La / Straika D qui donnent leur cours d'histoire avec La Machine. Et pour foinir les non moins engagés Danakil avec Mali Mali, on le sait le groupe qui enregistre justement au Mali dans les studios de Baco est particulièrement touché par le sujet...

Stephen Marley - No Cigarette Smokin [feat. Melanie Fiona]
B.O. parfaite d'une fin de soirée en douceur... Stephen Marley, No Cigarette Smokin, avec en featuring Melanie Fiona et sa voix plus qu'envoutante.
On ne va pas s'étaler sur le clip, on sent bien le côté réchauffé de la prod. ("bon tu me mets une plage... la mer en fond... on sinon beaucup de vert partout -Jamaïque, reggae toussa toussa...-"). Par contre, pour la musique, j'aime: un bon roots à l'ancienne.
Le morceau est tiré de l'excellent Revelation Part 1: The Root Of Life, dans les bacs depuis mai, sans aucun doute l'un des meilleurs albums reggae de l'année, encore un cran au-dessus de son précédent opus Mind Control.
